Our story

Cesar Hervert founded TMAZ Taqueria in 2011 with the dream of bringing the authentic recipes of central Mexico to Michigan. Cesar’s wife, Ana, soon joined him at Tmaz, allowing the talented chefs to combine their unique cooking styles with traditional Mexican recipes to create truly special dishes.

TMAZ is named for Temascalcingo, Mexico, where Cesar’s wife and their kids were born. As a family restaurant at its core, Tmaz values family and community. Their goal is to share the flavors of Temascalcingo with their Ann Arbor community and treat every customer that walks through their doors like family.  

OUr culinary philopsophy

We love our food and we value what goes into it. Here at TMAZ Taqueria, we cook like we cook at home: we use natural ingredients to create authentic Mexican dishes from scratch. Everything we serve is homemade and fresh.
